I also
stopped at Jacaranda in
Plantation on Saturday and took advantage of the Florida
resident special of $29.00 after 1pm. I
had a 2 for 1 coupon, but they told us we couldn't use it in
conjunction with the Florida Resident pricing. The East course is in
the process of a complete renovation to be done by November 2005 and
the West course is backed up with the regular players. Took almost 6
hours to golf 18 holes.
Because
in season Jacaranda is pricey, we did not visit it. Off
season (and it's a shame our local courses don't support their year
round golfers) is a little more affordable and we will return to see
how the renovations turn out.
From their own
website:
Located just minutes from Fort
Lauderdale, Jacaranda Golf Club offers 36 exceptional holes of
superb golf in and around the ponds, canals and waterways that make
this tropical setting unique. Many of Jacaranda’s East and West
Course holes are bordered by water or are framed by the Ficus, Live
Oak and Banyan trees that give definition to this gently rolling
land. If you visit in the spring be certain to look for the
flowering Jacaranda trees that gives the club its name. The trees
create explosions of vibrant purple in a towering canopy of green on
a field of blue Florida sky.
